The Chaparrosa is one of the larger ranches in this portion of South Texas, encompassing some 80,000 acres in Zavalla County. This area of South Texas is teaming with wildlife. Though the brush country of South Texas is most noted for its muy grande whitetails, this property also is home to an abundant Rio Grande Wild Turkey populations. With miles of creeks and drainages on the Chaparrosa, there are excellent perennial roost areas for turkeys. Wildlife Systems, Inc. has been operating turkey hunts here for several years.

We bundle these packages where each hunter can harvest 1 turkey, 1 feral hog, and 1 javelina. Additional birds may be taken for an additional fee. Our typical package on the Chaparrosa is a 3 day, 3-night program which includes meals, 2x1 guide, lodging, and game care. The lodging is 5-star with several bedrooms that have private bath facilities, a large dining room, game room with open bar, swimming pool with covered sitting area, and plush amenities.

Hunters can fly into San Antonio, rent a vehicle, and make the 2-hour drive to the ranch. Our hunts begin with an afternoon hunt, so some hunters fly in the evening before, overnight in San Antonio and have a leisurely drive to the ranch. The resident chef provides a great blend of local flavors, along with traditional steak dinners, BBQ, and Tex-Mex cuisine. These are outstanding spring turkey hunts on a famed South Texas ranch with lots of turkeys, great facilities, and warm hospitality.
