Season Hunting Leases

Alex Hartman poses with an outstanding whitetail taken on WSI hunting lease near San Angelo

Wildlife Systems, Inc. operates Texas hunting leases. We lease land for a variety of game animals, including white-tailed deer, mule deer, dove, quail, turkey, and waterfowl. Wildlife Systems, Inc. enrolls all of the properties into a wildlife management program which usually includes wildlife surveys, recorded harvest data, and certain harvest management strategies, which ensures that our hunting leases are well managed.

Our most popular Texas hunting leases are general hunting leases that allow the members to hunt a variety of game animals. Several of the properties have facilities in place while others have water and electric hookups only. These hunting leases generally run from $3,000-$4,000 per gun. Inquire on availability.

Warren Ranch

Looking for a hunting lease that has it all? This is it. The Warren Ranch lies in between Bronte and Robert Lee in Coke County, Texas. It consists of 3 separate parcels that total 2514 acres. The ranch is diverse in wildlife species including whitetail deer, turkey, quail, duck, dove, predators, and fishing. The surface is made-up of beautiful, big live oak trees; 2 wet weather creeks that run through the majority of the ranch; numerous dirt tanks (or ponds); big, grassy mesquite flats; several CRP type fields; and cedar breaks. The topography is mostly made up of gently rolling hills with draws, some flat country and one very large canyon on the far west end of the property. The ranch has not been grazed in about 3 years and offers great ground cover. Together, all of these characteristics combine to offer an abundance of recreational use in a beautiful and picturesque landscape that is pleasing to any naturalist.

One parcel butts up to the Bronte city limits, consists of 306 acres “Camp Area”, and is where the campsite is located. At the campsite, are 3 metal buildings that provide covered RV, auto, feed, and equipment storage with water and electricity. One building can also be used as a semi-enclosed skinning facility with only one side open to the elements. There is also a 2 bedroom, 1 bath mostly furnished cabin built inside one of the metal buildings. There is about a 20-40 acre field on this section that may planted at sublessee’s discretion for dove and (or) deer if they so desire. No rifle hunting is allowed on this section as it neighbors town, but archery and shotgun hunting are welcomed. The other two parcels are adjoined with a county road dividing them about 7 miles west of the aforementioned parcel. The main parcel is about 1700 acres and the remaining parcel about 500 acres.

The lease rate is $8.25/acre annually with 50% due upon execution of lease and balance due by September 1, 2009. A maximum of seven “principle” lease members are allowed to comprise the lease. These seven “principles” can hunt all available game. If “principle” brings guest to deer hunt it must be spouse, child or grandchild 18 years or less, and they must be accompanied by “principle.” “Principles” are allowed to harvest a maximum of seven bucks. Size limit on bucks is a minimum of eight points with at least a 14” inside spread, preferably 3.5 years of age or older. “Principles” may harvest up to fourteen does unless census suggests we need to harvest more doe deer. All turkey hunting must take place with shotgun or archery equipment and a maximum of seven gobblers may be harvested. Sublessees are allowed to hunt dove anywhere on ranch, except the late dove season in early January and dove hunting is restricted to “Camp Area” during that period.

If sublessee only wants the deer hunting the lease rate would be adjusted to $6.50/acre and would be for whitetail season only. All above whitetail restrictions still apply.
