Texas Spring Turkey Hunting

Our Texas spring turkey hunts have grown in popularity in recent years.

WSI currently has a tremendous land base with properties located in the heart of the state’s best spring turkey hunting regions.

It is no wonder that over 75% of our spring turkey hunting business is repeat customers, as our success rates every year are near 100% on hunters taking at least one Rio Grande gobbler, and most hunters take two.

Why go Spring Turkey Hunting with Us?

One of the key ingredients to quality, high success spring turkey hunting is the ability to have access to large land masses of quality turkey habitat. We have it. Annually, our Texas turkey hunts take place on approximately ten different turkey hunting properties totaling near 100,000 acres. We restrict the number of mature gobblers we take off of a given property, and we adjust the harvest numbers annually based on our turkey population’s reproductive success during the three years preceding the current spring turkey hunting season. This allows for large numbers of big, mature birds. We are also very conscientious about how we hunt our properties so that we can ensure fresh birds and fresh hunting areas through the season’s entirety, providing all of our clients with a quality Texas spring turkey hunting experience.

What Is Furnished On Our Texas Spring Turkey Hunts

We offer two different spring turkey hunting packages. Our most common turkey hunting packages is an all-inclusive arrangement that provides you with guide (2x1), meals, lodging, airport shuttle (conditional), and game care.

Our standard turkey hunting arrangement allows you to take up to two mature gobblers, but we do occasionally allow our hunters to set up three or even four bird package hunts (inquire).

We also offer a limited number of “unassisted” Texas turkey hunts where hunters essentially do their own thing. On most of these hunts, hunters either camp out or stay in town in a motel. This is a no frills deal, but the turkey hunting is great, with hunters enjoying high success hunts.

Hunting License & Seasons For Texas Spring Turkey Hunting

Turkey Hunting Licenses are unlimited, over the counter licenses, where no drawing or lottery is required. Nonresident spring turkey hunting licenses are $126, unless you purchased a general non-resident license during the previous fall, and then you only pay for a $7.00 Upland Bird Stamp Validation. There are no age restrictions in Texas, and youth licenses are only $7.00 for a Texas turkey hunting license.

Our Texas spring turkey hunting season essentially runs from the last weekend of March through the second weekend of May. Our southern spring turkey hunting zone starts two weeks prior to our north zone and ends two weeks earlier than the north zone.
