If you’re looking for a relaxing hunting experience, full of excitement and fun, it’s hard to beat a good Texas dove hunt. These little gray ghosts provide excellent hunting opportunities to corporate groups, family excursions, or weekend retreats for a group of friends who are looking to burn some gunpowder and share some fellowship.
Most of our Texas dove hunting either take place near San Angelo. We have access to many different farm fields on the edge of town, generally plated in milo. Many of these fields will normally see heavy use from a combination of white-wings, mourning doves, and Eurasian collared doves (ringnecks). We DO NOT overload our dove fields with hunters, instead opting to offer a safe, quality experience for our dove hunting clients. Depending upon group size, you may have your own exclusive filed for your group.
We offer two different Texas dove hunting options:
Package Hunt- These dove hunts are set up as two-day/two-night packages with group sizes normally varying from 8-15 hunters. We generally have a group minimum policy, as opposed to selling individual spots. These packages include lodging, meals, guide, and bird preparation. Out normal program under this option includes 2 afternoon shoots and 1 morning shoot. We mix in some horse shoes, washer pitching, and claybird shooting to provide plenty of entertainment when not in the field. Price per hunter for this all-inclusive package varies from $695 - $795, depending upon group size, with a normal 8-hunter minimum.
Day Hunt- This dove hunting option is a simply arrangement where hunters pay a daily fee and have access to one of our fields. Hunters typically stay in a local motel in San Angelo, often only 5-10 from where they are hunting. There are plenty of good choices for meals at local restaurants. We can accommodate groups sizes from 2-50 hunters. Price is typically $100 per hunter per day, but check with us on details.
Our Texas dove hunting season begins on September 1 and we generally offer dove hunts through September 25. Nonresident’s licenses are unlimited and cost $48 unless you are younger than 17, which cost $7.
